St. Louis Open Streets Details
The City of St. Louis just launched the Open Streets website! On May 1, June 13, September 19, and October 9 the City will close Lindell/Locust to cars and open it up to walkers, runners, bikers, etc. from Skinker all the way to the Arch. It's going to be the biggest street festival St. Louis has ever seen! Open Streets will take place 8am - 1pm each of those days.

What about cross streets? Will car traffic be able to access one side to the other of Lindell or Locust Streets during this Open Street period?
ReplyDeleteThe City is still working out details, but the short answer is: Yes. A subset of cross streets will be open to accommodate folks that need to get about the City by car. Major cross streets, such as Grand, will of course remain open for vehicle traffic. The bikers, runners, walkers will have to behave like any road user and wait until the signal turns green. Because of the cross traffic, Open Streets should have less impact on the City than the major events/races that do not allow cross traffic. Stay tuned for more information...
